DB30 New Carb has issue
It would always stall and would take forever to get started. it would
not even move me when I sat on it and my son had to use his legs to get
it started. You also could not put the chock on anything but closed. I
replaced the Carb with one I found at a Honda Dealer Part #
16100-Ze6-W01.
This thing goes quick now I can ride it going about 5-10MPH.
THe only issue we have is the bike will run for about 5-10min and then
flood and we will have to let it sit for a while and then we can start
it up and it will run for another 5-10 mins. During the Waiting period
GAs will drip out of the Chock area. Any Ideas whats wrong. I did take
the Carb off and look at it again the float seems to work fine. I am
concerned that maybe the Gasket between the carb and enginee might
becovering a little bit of the carb. Do you think this could cause the
problem. The Doodlebug carb was a subject of a service bulletin-it may need an
adjustment,it has a screw for that. Your new carb may have a float
setting that's too high or it too needs a adjustment screw set. The bike
I bought was geared for a 26 MPH top end and I was able to get about
that on a dry lake check valve your air filter and clean if needed.
Find an edger with a 3-3.5hp briggs and get an adaptor plate, you'll have to buy a clutch unless the crank is threaded. The briggs engine will then line up with the chain and it'll then carry you along fine and a kid even better! My 7yo daughter has a 30yo briggs 3hp on hers and it'll carry me to 30-35mph. She flies arounds our field and it starts and runs fantastic! A minibike is supposed to need work from ime to time but you're fighting an uphill battle trying to get the 2.8 to work right, maybe 20% do and those are losing odds! Unless someone puts one in a tine capsule you'll likely never see a 30yo lifan 2.8 engine, I have a 40yo briggs 2hp that starts on the second pull cold and has never been opened up!
