needle valve features
2012-05-21
a Needle Valve controls flow in both directions (bi-directional). A finely threaded stem allows the gradual adjustment of the amount of controlled flow passing through the valve. Flow enters the input port, travels through an orifice sized by the tapered stem and out the output port.
When selecting a Needle Valve for your pneumatic circuit, it is imperative that you know your flow rate requirements. The speed of the related actuator is dependent upon how quickly the actuator can be filled with air at the input and exhausted at the output.
Needle valve Features:
- The Needle Valve allows precise flow adjustment due to 56 threads per inch adjustment and three degree taper of the needle. A higher resolution version is available.
- The adjusted flow remains stable even during temperature fluctuations as the needle and valve seat are both manufactured from stainless steel.
- The valve body (elbow or tee) swivels 360 degrees to facilitate installation and orientation.
- The needle valve body is available with built-in-barbs which saves space and reduces cost of connections and assembly time. Please see chart below for available options.
- The standard valve has a maximum flow path of 0.032". A high flow version is available with a maximum flow path of 0.059".
- The metal to metal seal provides positive shut-off to 25 in Hg.
